On July 22nd, siblings Julie Fitzpatrick and David Fitzpatrick will share their writing as David debuts his novel, Wolf-Boy, a coming of age tale set in 1979 Cape Cod that traverses the complexities of sexuality, mental illness, identity, relationships, art, and recovery. Julie Fitzpatrick, a writer/actor/theater teacher will read excerpts of her play “77 U-Turn” and book “church on the Screen: A Sunday Series of Pandemic Poetry” and both will discuss the impact of David’s mental illness on their family. David and Julie have a 12 year age gap, with Julie being the youngest in the family. She was only 8 years old when David had his first psychotic break. Julie has a visceral reaction, which she later reflects on in her play “77 U-Turn”. Through the years, both David and Julie turned to writing to help process their traumas, turning this tragedy into honest and compelling art. Join them at Breakwater Books in Guilford on July 22nd at 6pm for books readings and signings.
