“I want to thank you for the profoundly amazing experience of your class. As a total beginner to this craft it was a fantastic experience to watch you work. You are like a sculptor molding people with your hands, it was so 3D, you have a gift. I’m so happy I was able to be a part of that,” writes Donna, Acting Student.
“Julie you are beyond amazing and thank you for your encouragement and expertise along this journey. I know that I found the right teacher and mentor,” writes Student Kippie, Acting Student.
Pre-Covid, Julie was an Acting Coach at Madison Arts Barn having worked with the young actors there on monologues, accents, presence, & theater basics on Into the Woods Jr., Little Mermaid Jr. and Quaranteen and Other Tales.
Julie mentors and coaches local singers and actors on their material. One singer named Mary writes, “We worked on many songs together and interpreted their meanings and what they meant to me personally as a singer. Julie also helped me to improve my acting by helping me loosen up and explore different movements while singing. I found this to be very useful for a more authentic performance! I had a great time working with Julie and learned and grew so much from what she taught me!”
Julie ran improv workshops at Madison Arts Barn in 2019 and led a Monologue Workshop there in July 2020.
Julie directed the in-verse play Rap-punzel by Whitney Ryan Garrity at Madison Arts Barn, which was converted into a radio play due to COVID-19. A Radio Play of their production is here below - listen and enjoy!
Julie was the Drama Director at St. Martin de Porres Academy in New Haven during the spring of 2020 directing The Big Bad Wolf vs. The Three Little Pigs with middle school actors. They read their work on Zoom in lieu of a live performance here, which Julie edited.
