Legacy Theatre’s Wheel Life Theatre Troupe presents Let’s Get Together, an original piece of devised theatre, written and performed by the Wheel Life participants. A show about the evolution of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the brave people in the ‘80s and ‘90s who brought it to pass, this entertaining and thought-provoking production boldly looks at how we can all “get together” to improve each other's quality of life -- today and always.

High School Musical Jr
Disney Channel's smash hit movie musical comes to life on the Our Lady of Mercy Prep stage in Disney’s High School Musical JR on March 1st & 2nd at 6:30pm. Troy, Gabriella and the students of East High must deal with issues of love, friends and family while balancing their classes and extra curricular activities. The show’s infectious, danceable songs are sure to engage performers and audiences alike.
Chester Arts and Literary Weekend
Laura Thoma, Pat Lore and Julie Fitzpatrick will be sharing their work in Chester’s Arts and Literary Weekend at 5pm on Sunday the 11th of February at the Chester Meeting House.

Acoustic Jam Session, Friday, starting at 6 p.m. Musicians are invited to join in this jam session. Audience members are encouraged to lend a voice, clap their hands, and dance their hearts out!
Connecticut Storytelling Center Presents Music & Storytelling, Saturday at 7:30 p.m. This 90-minute show filled with stories and music is a benefit for the Connecticut Storytelling Center. $10 per ticket, pre-purchase at connstorycenter.org/ or at the door the night of the performance.

Wheel Life Theatre Troupe Showcase
Join us at Legacy Theatre 128 Thimble Islands Rd in Branford, CT for a sharing of this wonderful troupe’s original writing and movement pieces. Comprised of performers who ambulate on crutches, wheelchairs and other ambulatory devices and their friends, the Wheel Life Theatre Troupe has written a series of monologues and movement works which will be shared at this free event. The Stronger by August Strindberg by the Moses Gunn Play Company
The Moses Gunn Play Company will present a reading of THE STRONGER by August Strindberg (1849-1912), Sweden’s foremost dramatist. His work is known for showing the power one character has over another. This short play is about the love triangle of a wife, husband, and his lover. It is performed as a soliloquy in which only one character speaks and the other responds with body language. In this reading, the actors will then switch roles, and perform the short play again.

Yours in Words, by Playwright Laura Thoma will be performed as part of the GreenStage Live Arts Festival 2023 at 7pm on September 17th. Set in New York City, Yours in Words, follows the journey of two women writers with vastly different life experiences amidst a burgeoning turning point for women and invention. Lily Lamont is a daring young sapphist (lesbian) from Nebraska. Annabelle (Julie Fitzpatrick) is a famous novelist, the world knows only as A.B. Jones. After an unlikely meeting, the two women realize they have an opportunity to change the landscape of The Great White Way. To do so, they must overcome their differences and break away from the societal limitations set for women, and challenge the gender norms of the day.

Sacred Land: Songs and Poems of Resilience from Ukraine - Led by celebrated producer, conductor and actor, Marika Kuzma, this unique live performance conveys a portrait of Ukraine not limited to destruction and conflict, but as a country of great cultural beauty and breadth. Experience projected images of the varied Ukrainian landscape, paired with soulful and colorful sacred and secular choral music spanning several centuries sung by Ensemble Cherubim, and interwoven with Ukrainian poetry. The 80-minute long concert is a true celebration of Ukrainian creativity and resilience. Julie Fitzpatrick and Manu Kumasi will be the actors reciting the poetry in the event.

Shoreline Arts Alliance: Celebration of the Arts
Shoreline Arts Alliance is proud to host a Celebration of the Arts on Thursday, June 22 at Scranton Memorial Library in Madison. The event, which runs from 5-7 PM will celebrate all of the arts with performances, readings and exhibits by winners of Shoreline Arts Alliance’s 2023 Scholarships in the Arts, IMAGES 2022, the 2023 Tassy Walden New Voices in Children’s Literature competition and SAA’s 2023 Future Choices juried art exhibition for high school students. In addition to seeing emerging artists, attendees will be able to view the work of professional artists and enjoy interactive art events and projects.

The story of the play concerns an elderly actor on the night of his final performance. In his cups, he falls asleep backstage in an inconspicuous place and awakes in the middle of the night to find himself locked in. The charwoman who cleans the theatre arrives and they begin a conversation about the theatre. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of the theatre in general, and of the old actor in particular. Improv Class!
Hi everyone, I’ve been teaching an adult acting class through Legacy Theatre this spring, which has been so exciting, and I was just asked to take over the improv class for a most wonderful teacher who has had to put a pause on teaching for the moment. The class is small and we’d love some more courageous thespians - if you’re free Saturdays from 12:15 to 1:15 it’s an all ages delightful hour of theatrical, improvisational exercises and games. I can guarantee laughs and lots of positive energy. Improv is a wonderful way to roll with what life throws us so if this appeals to you and you’re a beginner, that’s swell - and if you’re an old pro, you can show us some new ropes. All the World’s a Stage: A Guilford (Pandemic) Love Story will be reprised for the first time since its debut in 2021. Same cast, same colorful music stands, same lovely stories from this very town.
“All the World’s a Stage: A Guilford (Pandemic) Love Story” is a spoken word performance piece drawn from pandemic & love stories shared by more than 70 Guilford residents with writer/performer Julie Fitzpatrick. It is a community story full of heart, hope and honesty featuring Stephanie Little Brown, Dana Canevari, Alice Chen, Victoria Newman, Meg Teape with poetic narration by Fitzpatrick and ASL Interpreted by Christina Stevens.

Gardner and Fanny Church are about to move out of their Beacon Hill house to their cottage on Cape Cod. Gardner, once a famous poet, is now retired. He slips in and out of senility as his wife, Fanny, tries to keep them both afloat. They have asked their artist daughter, Mags, to come home and help them move. Mags agrees in the hopes that they will allow her to paint their portrait. She hopes that by painting them she will come to terms with them and they with her. Directed by Pat Souney. 77 U-Turn is part of the Expanded Voices Series at Legacy Theater. It follows an intense personal story, told as a one-woman show with multiple characters and explores being affected by a brother's mental illness which exposes itself in surprising and terrifying ways on a tour of her childhood home.
